😁 Watzka Fam Is Back

Wow! Huge things have happened this last year.

January 19th, 2022, I bought my family our first home! The kids have loved it. Ryker is now 6, Renly is 4, and miss Rhori is now 2.

Life has not been the best to me this last year as after we moved into the home Miss Rhori started having seizures and was diagnosed with Epilepsy April 23rd, 2022.

What started out as a Normal Friday in my house on April 22nd turned into a 25-minute seizure, ambulance ride, flight for life and a 24-hour EEG.

I woke up at 5 am with Rhori, nursed her when I noticed she also had a fever of 101 degrees. I gave her ibuprofen right away. Unfortunately, by 5:30 she was already limp and seizing in my arms. I woke her dad, and he thought I was talking about our new puppy we had bought our boys the month before hand. By the time he realized I was talking about our daughter she was foaming from the mouth. I called 911 and they arrived within 5 minutes.

When the ambulance arrived i ran out the door with her and the cops grabbed her from my arms. I never felt so helpless for my child until that moment. She was still seizing when we got into the ambulance. When we arrived at the ER, they did a CT and Xray. Found no issues. They Called St Vincents in Green Bay thinking they would send an ambulance but instead they sent the helicopter for her.

Once the Helicopter arrived, they offered me to ride with but I had nothing with me except my phone so I had to run home and get bags packed as I knew we would be hospitalized a minimum of 1 day. I needed clean clothes for her and I. As I was driving the 45 minutes to the hospital, she was transferred too they called me to get my permission to do a spinal tap to check for meningitis. I gave my Permission over the phone to find out what was wrong with my little girl.  Spinal and all blood work came back negative for infections. They then hooked her up to the EEG. 24 hours she had the EEG hooked up. they Advised me if it was abnormal, I would be staying a 2nd night. If it was clear, it was just a febrile seizure.

The next 24 hours seems to drag on. Finally, her dad showed up the next day and the Neurologist walked in and advised me her resulted were indeed abnormal. Meaning we would be staying a 2nd night. As we prepared for the 2nd night that involved asking for a sitter for our boys so Cody could stay with Rhori and I. Thankfully Codys family had a Family Christmas party that day. So, his dad and stepmom were more than happy to take the boys for Cody to stay with us.

Since Rhori was diagnosed we went from having 3 healthy kiddos to 2 healthy kiddos and one with a medical condition that we had to learn all about in order to prevent future seizures. She has been taken by ambulance 2 additional time and he hospitalized 6 times. When she has her seizures, we have to take her to the hospital as her o2 levels drop extremely low they have been down to 40%.

Rhori typically seizes anywhere from 20-40 minutes. But we are learning daily what she is capable of after we finally got her medications figured out. She is blossoming in this funny outgoing and absolutely amazing little girl. I am so excited to be on this journey with her!
