My Life

So I was born in Seoul, South Korea in October of 1992. I am an army brat 100%. My parents met in Korea and I happened. I was not planned at all as my mom was 18 when she got pregnant and my dad was 19. My mom from Wisconsin and dad from Texas.
I have lived in Korea, Colorado and Wisconsin. Growing up I had a pretty normal childhood. My mom married my sister Brianna’s dad and my little sister was born they then divorced. Then my mom married my brother Zachary’s dad and had my brother.  Then they divorced. I started school in 1997 in Wisconsin and only ever went to Wisconsin schools. My mom was still in the Military and living in Colorado but she didn’t want us transferring schools and having to meet and make new friends. So when I got to school age I lived with my grandparents. My mom moved back to Wisconsin shortly after I started school. My mom worked a full time job and raised my younger siblings and I.
Growing up I remember always being the mini mom to my younger siblings. I was so bossy and was given a lot of responsibilities. I babysat on nights my mom had school or work. My grandparents lived right around the corner so we always had someone near by. My younger brother and sister used to fight all the time. They literally threw VHS tapes at one another and chases eachother with knives. I could yell all I wanted they didn’t listen. Why? Probably because I was not their mom or their grandpa. My mom and grandpa we’re very strict on us both were ex military. So we grew up with very little tolerance for back talk or disrespect.
I also remember being the one that costed my mom so much in medical bills. What child can say every year for like 3 or 4 years they had atleast 6 ER visits or calls to the ER. 1st time I was 8 and it’s was mother day weekend I was playing baseball with one of my oldest friends and my moms best friends son. He, my brother and I were in his back yard practicing throwing the ball up and hitting it. Well we were out there for like 20ish minutes when my friend threw the ball up went to hit it swung all the way around and hit me right in the mouth. I remember just screaming bloody murder in so much pain and my mouth gushing blood. His mom and her boyfriend at the time I remember came running out. The minute they saw me they rushed me in the house and grabbed a wet wash cloth. I remember them putting me in the car and rushing me to my moms. My mom and her friend rushed me to the ER. Where at that point they told me I needed stiteches and we should try to find my other half of my tooth to try and get it fixed. No such luck I had to have it pulled and have a partial placed. As the one that was knocked out was my adult tooth.
Fast forward 5 months to October. On my 9th birthday old friends and I were playing on the glider at school when we were pushing to get speed to come back. Well my turn, I lost grip and end up smacking my wrist off the bar and landing on it. My mom was called and I was taken to the ER. Well xrays confirmed it was definitely broke. That was the day my mom had arranged me to talk to my dad for the first time after I got back from dinner with my grandparents. Well I was on strong pain meds and fell asleep at dinner 😂. Then I got home and had like a5 minute conversation with my dad and fell asleep. It was the week before Halloween so I was not looking forward to going trick or treating and have to walk everywhere and not run house to house. Welp guess what it didn’t stop their. I went to a friends house to go trick or treating with her. We met up with my mom in town. Shortly before trick or treat was over we were crossing the street stepped up on the curb went to step on the side walk and I tripped. I literally tripped over the side walk, grabbed my friends costume she went down in the grass me I fell on the concrete. My mom had padded my arm to protect it. Haha joke was on her, I landed directly on my already broken arm. Obviously I screamed so loud and cried everyone turned around and probably thought my mom was beating me. So my mom ran across the street and took my jacket off to check my arm. At the point I was in extreme pain and my elbow was already swelling. So my mom rewrapped my arm and took my siblings and I home. She called the ER when we got home and told them what happened. I was due to be casted the next day. She knew my elbow was broken. The ER told he not to take me in as they were doing xrays the next day at my appointment before they casted. Next day they did the xrays and confirmed I had not only broke my wrist a week prior but my elbow was also now broke. I choose a glow in the dark cast. My mom won though and I ended up with dark purple. Simply due to the fact that she had already purchased a purple dress for my grandparents anniversary the following week.
Then I was good until about 15 months later. We were typing in class on the laptops when my middle finger got extremely stiff and I couldn’t move it without pain....so my mom was called again. She took me in to the ER I actually SPRAINED my middle finger TYPING on a keyboard. 😂 like who does that. Fast forward about a year and a half. I was playing softball at recess with a bunch of kids. A kid hit the softball and I got nailed in my ankle instantly my ankle swelled up and I couldn’t walk. My mom was called no break but it was extremely brusied. Lol that ended my streak of bad luck for about 5 years thankfully. I was good. My mom I’m pretty sure started getting grey hair because of me.
The biggest shock of my childhood came the beginning of my 8th grade year. I was doing my chores and I found 3 pregnancy test laying in the house. I remember calling my best friend at the time bawling telling her my mom was pregnant and how much I didn’t want another siblings. Well she told us about the pregnancy and I remember not being happy about it and telling her yeah I knew I found her test. She told me it could have been anyone’s and not to assume. She was on birth control so she was not expecting another baby. I was hoping for a sister so badly. Welp it was a BOY. My mom wanted another girl but was excited for another boy. She let my sister and I help pick his name. We picked Blaise. He was born the weeks before I graduated 8th grade. My sister Brianna and I were in the delivery room and Brianna cut his cord. He was a little early and fit in to premie clothes. We thought our family was complete and my mom was killing it by being a single mom of 4. My mom went back on birth control and was 100% ready to be done. Haha jokes on her god had bigger plans. My senior prom I went to visit my mom as I was not living there at the time. She wanted pictures on my boyfriend at the time now husband in our prom attire. She dropped a big bomb on me and I cried. She had found out even on depo again she was pregnant. She was a wreck as she had now had 2 different birth controls fail even tho she never missed appointments. I was 18 my sister Brianna was 16, my brother Zach was 14 and my littlest brother Blaise was 3 almost 4. About a month later my sister also found out she was pregnant. My sister left town after I graduated on June 3rd to move to Illinois by her dad. We carried on with life. In August we found out my mom was getting her little girl. Again she gave me the baby book and told me to pick a name. It had to be with a Z that was the only rule. We couldn’t mess up the pattern we had going. It was between Zelea (za-leah) or Zeleia (za-lay-ah). So now we have Bobbi, Zari, Brianna, Zachary, Blaise and Zeleia.

That’s just a little about my family. It’s far from perfect but we all love eachother. We may all omhave a different dad but we are extremely close. Even tho my sister Brianna and I are now both moms we still talk to our mom every single day. I’m pretty sure my moms is hoping and praying that she gets a granddaughter from one of us soon. As appearently all we can produce is boys. Brianna has 3 boys and I have 2.  Like I said my family may not be perfect, but it’s perfect for me!
