Boy Mom x2

Being a boy mom has proven to be a lot more interesting that I ever anticipated.
I always pictured myself with a boy and a girl but having 2 boys keeps me on my toes. Our oldest Ryker has always been outgoing and fearless. Where as our youngest Renly is more laid back and clumsy. I have always loved the thought of having boys to raise. I dirt, mud and sports has always been one thing I could see myself dealing with as a mom. But picturing it and actually dealing with it are 2 totally different things. Both my boys love the mud  and dirt they also love giving me a ton of kisses with their dirty little faces after.
Imagine my surprise when I noticed they also loved to take their food and rub it on their heads caking their hair full of syrup and whip cream. When this happens it usually results in immediate bath time. Which Ryker loves but Renly will scream bloody murder the minute you touch his hair with water. Yet has no problem taking his pancake syrup and dumping it on his head. Renly is definitely my one who prefers to be dirty. Ryker loves to be clean and will tell me when the water is not hot enough. He will stand there in the hot water while his skin is turning a little red and laugh at me for being concerned. So I always turn the cooler water on in the shower and he has and all our fit. He is 3 and absolutely prefers hot showers over Luke warm showers.
They also say potty training boys is hard.....Ryker was not ready till he was 2 weeks away from 3 years old and by his 3rd bday he was 100% potty trained. Renly is about to turn 2 in June and he has been starting to really show interest in potty training. So we have been working with him some today he has gone 6 times so far. Goal is to having him potty trained by Christmas. We are in no rush to push him to grow up but, if he is ready hey why not.
Cody and I have been doing our best to raise our boys. We want to raise them to not rush to grow up. They are only small once. With Cody being a stay at home dad they get to soak up time with their dad. Yes, I would love to stay home with my kids but, honestly I couldn’t do it. I love my kids but I also love working outside of the home. These last 2 months of quarantine have proven to me that in order to be the best mom I can be I need to work outside of the home. I always pictured myself being a stay at home mom until I actually had to work from home with my kids home all day. I give my husband props our boys are a handful and I couldn’t do it.
I recently got preapproval to purchase our first home. Something I never thought I could do in my entire life. We have lined up 3 houses to look at on Monday and I am so excited to put an offer in on a home. It definitely won’t be something EXTRAVAGANT but it will be in my name meaning I can furnish it the way I want! I’m so excited to begin this journey of my life with my little family.
Keep following our Journey! We have some exciting things coming up in the next few month I promise you won’t be disappointed!
